About the app

CitizenReady helps you prepare for the U.S. Naturalization (citizenship) civics test. It covers both official tests — the 2025 civics test (128 questions) and the 2008 test (100 questions) — with audio for every question, speaking and pronunciation practice, reading and writing practice, N-400 interview prep, a full interview simulation, flashcards, and progress tracking.

Frequently asked questions

Which civics test should I study — 2025 or 2008?

Use the 2025 test (128 questions) if your N-400 was filed on or after October 20, 2025. Use the 2008 test (100 questions) if it was filed earlier. You can switch versions any time in the app’s onboarding or settings.

Do I need an account to use the app?

No. All study features work without signing in. Sign in with Apple is optional and is used only to restore a premium subscription across devices.

Does it cost anything?

The app is free to use. An optional premium subscription may be offered in the app; study features are available for free.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Your study content and progress are stored on your device, so you can practice without an internet connection.

Why does it ask for microphone permission?

The microphone is used only for optional speaking and pronunciation practice. You can decline and still use every other feature. Audio stays on your device.

How is my privacy protected?

Your study data stays on your device, there’s no cross-app tracking, and we never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?

If you signed in, open Account settings, tap your account, then “Delete Account” to erase your credentials and study progress on the device. You can also uninstall the app to remove all local data. To cancel a paid subscription, manage it in the App Store.

How do I restore a subscription?

Sign in with Apple on your new device and use the restore option in the app’s account or paywall screen.
